Friday Assortment

I feel as though I have said everything I have to say this week, so for today’s post I would like to point you to some interesting articles that I have read recently and that you may enjoy.

First of all, if you are like me, you are weary of all of the political controversy.  *sigh*  That being said, Dr. Albert Mohler, who is a brilliant theologian and a voice of reason, has written an excellent take on the issue of immigration.  I really believe, even if you are sick to death of politics, that you will find this article worth your time.  Dr. Mohler does a daily briefing which is a podcast, but the written transcript is there to read.  You can find that article here.

Jeremiah Johnson of the Grace to You blog is doing a wonderful series on the beatitudes.  Here is his piece on Blessed are the Peacemakers and the Persecuted.

Debbielynne over at The Outspoken Tulip has written a piece about psychological Seduction.  Psychology is infiltrating the church like never before and Debbielynne does a good job of sharing how Christianity and Psychology are at odds, from a personal perspective.

16387854_654707624708749_5416313796835437701_nI have been reading A.W. Pink’s The Sovereignty of God, and find it difficult not to underline every sentence.  If you are struggling with the concept of God’s sovereignty, I highly recommend this tome to you.  It was written in 1918 but it is amazing how so much of what Mr. Pink observed is true of the church today.  Elizabeth Prata  tipped me off to this article refuting a common argument against God’s sovereignty in salvation, The Illusion of a Gentleman God by Robert Bernecker.  I think you will find it edifying.

Lastly, pastor Gabe Hughes of WWUTT (when we understand the text) has a helpful 90 second video explaining the unbiblical teachings in the popular book The Shack.  Please, check it out.  The Shack vs the Bible:

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Soli Deo Gloria!
